I've had the s550e for about 4 years, I love it. One of the negatives is the in bowl light goes off way too soon for nighttime uses. You still have the outside light though. Sounds like you can control the inside bowl light time with the S7A where you can't on the 550. The S7A remote looks terrible. Also, the 550 remote has lid and seat open and close plus flush function on the top. Much easier for guys if you don't have the auto flush function. The S7A only has lid function on the top.
House guests, who are unfamiliar with bidets, would benefit using the older s500 series remote than the newer S7 series. The older remote is way easier to understand with all functions sorted in a single column and a wall plate explaining each button. The S7 remote is a mess-- very confusing and looks cheap. Retailers need to encourage Toto to redesign this remote.
@@irenerodriguez9225 Great question! If not, we need to encourage Toto to redesign a new remote that is backwards compatible for all previously sold S7 models.
I don't recommend Toto Washlets in general. We purchased one and with only two adults using it, it stopped working just shy of 2 years. When I called about repairs, the agent wasn't friendly and claimed they make so many of these that some are going to fail and then said he would send a box so we could ship it for repairs that will take two weeks. I'm not impressed and recommend you research other bidet options.

Will the older remote work with the newer bidet series?
